Dr. Robert Twillman is the former executive director of the Academy of Integrative Pain Management (AIPM) and has led national policy and advocacy efforts for the pain management community for 15 years. Dr. Twillman received his PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles (1989). Prior to working for AIPM, Dr. Twillman was a full-time faculty member at the University of Kansas Medical Center, where he founded and directed the inpatient pain management program and was a co-founder of the hospital’s palliative care team. He is the Principal Consultant for RKT Consulting, LLC, which involves development and execution of consulting projects related to pain management policy or clinical services. Dr. Twillman has authored over 40 publications and is on the Editorial Board for Journal of Pain Research, Psychom Pro, and Practical Pain Management.
