Charlie Chapman, a staff member of the U.S. House of Representatives Budget Committee discussed the Committee’s legislative process to IHPC Members in a recent Assembly Meeting. He noted the recent passage in the House of Representatives of the Preventive Health Savings Act (HR 766) as a good example. He told the members how committee works with health care stakeholders to provide a framework for the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) to evaluate the long-term budget impacts of preventive health care legislation.
